Volkswagen Group recently posted their half yearly sales figures, which accounts for 4mn vehicles sold, a figure, which the company hopes to expand to 8mn by year end.

The CEO of the company, Martin Winterkorn, was quoted as saying that sales in the first half of the year were driven by the increasing demand for their models across the world. He said that sales of Volkswagen alone grew by 11.8% since the last year, with a record of 2.5mn vehicles sold in 2011s first half.
