International Jawa Day Celebrated in Mangalore

Yesterday was the 9th International Jawa Day, which was celebrated the world over, including in the Indian cities of Mangalore, Mumbai and Mysore, among others. This day is celebrated every year, on the second Sunday of July.
In Mangalore, the event was celebrated with the help of Arun Shiri and Shawn Fernandez of Mangalore Jawa and Yezdi Club at YMCA road’s Shanthi Nilaya grounds. The event saw owners of 30 Yezdi and 5 Jawa bikes, displaying their motorcycles till evening. They later on headed into the streets to display the value and uniqueness of their bikes.
During the day, these owners also spoke about their bikes, stating the date of their bikes, and what the practices they followed to ensure the bike’s mint condition. They also spoke about availability of the bike’s spare parts, which are hard to find these days. The event also saw some modified bikes, along with bikes that were maintained in original condition.
