The new Chief Minister has announced her cabinet, details on ABC News. And here are my thoughts, which you didn’t ask for but shall have anyway…
1. Rolling Health, IR, and Chief Minister into one person’s job seems like far too much. Plus Treasury til June. And it gives Katy G three reasons to refuse pay rises for nurses (four if they ask for one before June).
2. Andrew Barr keeps Education. This is the man who took over Katy’s education portfolio when it was decided to close 22 primary and Pre schools back in 2006. Makes sense for the two top jobs to be part of the same faction, I guess.
3. Simon Corbell’s new portfolio combines environment and development. What the? So he can sign with his left hand and rubber stamp with his right?
4. Someone still has to replace Stanhope when he leaves.
