A few weeks ago I went to have a look at some of the new apartments being built in Barton, Canberra. It was all great until I noticed something not very cool with one of the new buildings.

I took a few photos, the first photo below shows the new building not quite finished and with some scaffolding material but the second picture shows something a little different.

This second picture however, shows that the reason for the scaffolding material is to hold together the cracked balcony’s concrete slap.

Is this typical of new constructions? should new tenants be told of these issues before they buy these properties? What do you think?
