‘Save Trees’ honored at ISFFI 2011

‘Save Trees’ -a short animated directed by Varun Mehta made its way to be honored at 5th International Short film festival of 2011 held on 25th and 26th February at EGA Cinemas Chennai. The event was organised by Don Bosco Institute of Communication and Arts. The shortlisted entries of 60 films of more than 512 entries from 42 countries made it to the festival.

‘Save Trees’ was shown on 26th February in the last segment of the ‘Final Best of the Best shots’ of the festival. Director Varun Mehta received the honor for his film and expressed his happiness at being at the festival. ‘Save Trees’ is a 3d animated film which depicts the harmful effects of deforestation and emotions of a tree when it is being cut off quite beautifully. First it was expected that the ‘Evolution’ from the movie ‘The Wonder Stone’ shall be screened but its ‘Save Trees’ which made it to the festival.

On The Whole Expierence of the festival Mehta said :- ‘Watching your movie screened at a theatre is something which you can’t express. It has been a fantastic expierence being honored at such an event.Mehta also thanked DBICA for holding such a memorable event and also thanked the juries related to the festival. He also wished for its success in many years to come.
