Celebrate the Canberra ‘Moon Festival 2010′ the Latino way

The very popular Canberra event ‘Moon Festival’ is back on again and this year they are celebrating the Latino way.
The Moon Festival is on Saturday 30th of October and the spotlight will be on Latin America and the Bicentenary of the Independence of five nations in the Americas:Â Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.
The Moon Festival is a family day full of live music, film, dance, storytelling, games, races and food from one of the most exciting regions of the world.
Performances:
- Dance bands Mi Tierra, Selene y su quimba and Radio Bemba, playing Latin rhythms such as salsa, merengue, mambo, bomba and others.
- Los Jovenes del Tango; a Canberra based band playing traditional Argentine Music.
- Weston Wind Band playing Latin American rhythms.
- Traditional Argentine, Mexican, Chilean, Colombian and Venezuelan dancing.
- TAC Famous Fresh Funk dancing crews.
- Traditional Latin American folk music with Trio Encuentro.
- Arawang Primary school choir singing in Spanish
- Stage fighting & fencing demos.
- Drums ensembles and much more!
Workshops: Reggaeton dancing for all the family, Zumbatomic (kids dance fitness), painting, fun jewellery, how to make a Piñata and more.
Games and races: Everyone can join in traditional Latin American games and sack races for all ages.
