Celebrate father’s day in Weston Park, Sunday 5 September – Canberra

Chief Minister and Minister for Territory and Municipal Services Jon Stanhope, is inviting all Canberra families to celebrate Father’s Day this year by attending a free Father’s Day community event in Weston Park, Yarralumla .

“I encourage families to come along to this year’s Father’s Day in the Park which will be held on Sunday 5 September between 11am and 3pm,” Mr Stanhope said.

“This free event will be packed full of entertaining activities to suit all the family for a relaxing and enjoyable day at one of Canberra’s most beautiful parks.

“Entertainment for the day includes live music featuring hits from the last four decades, dance performances from around the world, mini golf, climbing walls and a jumping castle.

“A great selection of food will be available for purchase, families are encouraged to bring along a picnic rug and chairs,” Mr Stanhope said.

Father’s Day in the Park is being held as part of the ACT Government’s round town program. A full list of upcoming events is available at www.roundtown.act.gov.au or by calling Canberra Connect on 13 22 81.
