Posted on August 6, 2010 by by emd
The new Tax Help Program hosted by Woden Community Service is a free service provided by volunteers through the Australian Tax Office. The ATO’s criteria for people seeking this assistance are as follows.Â
* A Single person must earn under $40 000for the financial year (it is ok if they have partner however they must be able to supply income details as per ATO requirements)Â
* This limit increases by $2500 for each dependent childÂ
* They cannot own investment propertiesÂ
* Strictly speaking they should not have an ABN.
Tax help is running each Wednesday between 9:30am and 4:30pm with appointments being 1 hour long . If a couple would like to have both their returns processed they will need to book two appointments (these can be consecutive appointments)
Appointments need to be made with Woden Community Service by calling 6282 2644. Once an appointment has been made, the person will be sent a confirmation of their appointment and information regarding what they need to bring with them.

That’s actually sounds like a pretty good program for the community in need.
