TransACT to upgrade network services

Posted on August 25, 2010 by by valerirojas

According to sys.com, TransACT has selected Telco Systems to provide them with the technology and services for an upcoming network upgrade.

“We are experiencing an ever growing demand to provide greater bandwidth with even higher levels of service assurance,” said TransACT Chief Executive Officer Ivan Slavich.

TransACT Chief Technical Officer Wayne Bouffler said, “By providing a fully managed 10G H-VPLS edge solution that interoperates with our core switches, Telco Systems has satisfied the need to expand our Ethernet service offering to more customers, without jeopardizing the current investment in our core network.”

The network upgrade will add capacity of approximately half a terabyte to TransACT’s expansive fibre optic network which will enable them to support thousands more new services. The upgrade is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2011.

Anyone in Canberra knows anything about this? there is nothing about it in the TransACT or Telco Systems websites. In fact not even newspapers are covering this.
