Lightening strikes Canberra House

21:30 Tuesday 10 August 2010 – ACT Fire Brigade has evacuated four homes in Cromwell Circuit Isabella Plains after a lighting strike ruptured a gas main.
The lightning apparently struck the top of a house in the street and ruptured a gas main on the property next door.
Firefighters have cleared the area and are waiting for gas contractors to repair the damaged main and restore supply.
No injuries have been reported.

7:00am Wednesday 11 August 2010 – Update on lightening strike The ACT Fire Brigade advise the damage bill as a result of last night’s lightening strike on a home in Isabella Plains is estimated at around $20,000.
