Can Public Servants Access social media sites from work?

Posted on August 26, 2010 by by valerirojas

Social Media, do you know what it is? and do you know what benefits you can get from it? believe or not many government departments still don’t understand it and basically don’t want to know about it.

At the moment I am very lucky to work in a government department where I can access social media websites, maybe that’s because it’s part of my daily work but what about other public servants who don’t work in marketing, web or any other ICT area? can you access social media sites such as youtube, facebook, twitter, wikipedia, blogs, forums or any other type of social media or social networks?

Feel free to share the name of the government department you work for and what websites you can’t access.
