Aussie ‘NeatStreets’ for smartphones – report broken footpaths, litter and more

Posted on August 30, 2010 by by valerirojas

Back in February this year, web and mobile services company PepperStack launched a very handy service for mobile phones called NeatStreets. NeatStreets is a mobile application that lets you report on broken footpaths, potholes, obstructions, litter, graffiti and even lost trolleys all over Australia by simply taking a photo . The app is similar to the fixmystreet.com project but for aussies and for mobile devices.

The application was launched for Google Android phones and Iphones only but last week they released their Blackberry version as well.

You can download the mobile app here or you can also visit their desktop version here.

How does it work?

Take a photo, select a category, type a message, and then press the send button. That’s all it takes. We get your report and its location within seconds!
We will automatically forward your reports to the appropriate authority based on your GPS location. This is done by our unique location-to-authority mapping service.

“We are working with Responsible Authorities (e.g. Councils, Road Authorities, and Government Departments) to use the community feed.”

For more info visit their FAQ page, enjoy it and share your thoughts on it.
