On Saturday 3 July about 11:30pm, a group of five men, aged 18 to 25, were standing on the western footpath of Kent Street, Sydney when they were approached by a group of men.

The men allegedly started a fight with the group of five, where a 21-year-old man was struck with a glass bottle, causing a serious laceration and a fractured skull.

The 21-year-old was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he underwent neurosurgery.

Detective Inspector Peter Houlahan from City Central Local Area Command said the release of closed-circuit television footage will hopefully help identify three men seen in Kent St who could assist in the investigation.

The first man police wish to speak to is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, with a large build, a shaved head and wearing a black jacket, white top, grey scarf and dark pants.

The second man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, of a medium build with short brown hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket, white collared shirt, thin black tie and black pants.

The third man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance with a medium build and short brown hair. He was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt with a white top or singlet underneath, denim jeans and white shoes.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or who has information about the identity and whereabouts of the three men depicted in the CCTV footage is urged to contact City Central Detectives via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. NSW Youtube Channel
