Google launches Australian Election site and Election Student Voice project

Posted on July 28, 2010 by by valerirojas

Google Australia has launched two new projects to connect Australians with information about the 2010 elections.

One of the projects is called Election Student Voice. This project allows young Australians to vote in a simulated federal election and have their opinions heard.

“We’re inviting 15 – 17 year-old students across Australia to vote in a simulated online federal election between 9 – 12 August. We’ve adopted standards and processes from the Australian Electoral Commission to make this as real an experience as possible.”

The second project Australian Elections, will also help connect Australians with information about the election, parties, and political issues.

Users can explore electoral information using a Google Map and access up-to-date insights and search trends.
