South Africa removes poor from streets just before World Cup

Posted on June 8, 2010 by by valerirojas

While millions of people are getting ready for the biggest sporting event of the year ‘The FIFA World Cup 2010″, the South African government has been accused of clearing the poor from the streets to create a good impression for visiting fans.

This is an interesting report from AlJazeera-English on the issue, surely the South African Government, FIFA, sponsors and partners involved in the World Cup could have come up with a better solution than tin housing, right?
