National Capital Authority chief executive Gary Rake has dismissed suggestions that the much-loved Brodburger burger van on Lake Burley Griffin should be accorded the same status as the Aboriginal tent embassy.Mr Rake was responding to questions by ACT Liberal senator Gary Humphries during Senate estimates on Tuesday night.

Senator Humphries had asked Mr Rake why the tent embassy was allowed to remain while Brodburger faced eviction.

Mr Rake said the authority continued to negotiate with the burger van’s owners, but said no comparison could be made between the burger van and tent embassy, which successive federal governments had allowed to stay.
