New Canberra Buses Iphone Application
Posted on May 10, 2010 by by valerirojas
Just over a week ago a developer by the name of Yizhan Ye added a new Iphone application to the Itunes store called Canberra Bus. The application is supposed to provide you with ACTION Buses timetable in a simple and quick way.
So my question to the Canberra Iphone community is, are you using this app already? is it the real deal and what do you think of it?Â
“Canberra Bus is a friendly timetable application that provides bus timetable for Canberra bus transport commuters. If you need an App to keep track of your favorite bus timetables throughout Canberra then this is for you!”
Features are:
- Â Access to all timetables in Canberra, Australia.
- Save and remove favorite routes at the touch of a button.Save and remove favorite bus stops at the touch of a button.
- All data is stored on the device. No need for a network. Good for iPod users.
“The timetable data is not from any organization. It is public information we shared and we will refresh data thru the App Store on a regular basis.”
So if you live in Canberra, use public transport and have an Iphone then share your thoughts on the application with the community. In fact even if you don’t use public transport let others know what you think of it.

This seems like a good idea but I have a few problems with it:
1 ACTION should have realeased something like this months ago
2 I wouldn’t pay $4 for free info that is from the ACTION website and does not include any maps
3 the design is not appealing
That’s my 2c worth, I won’t be using it

Thanks for that Sam, it sounds like ACTION can still come up with something. We can only wait and see what happens.

I know something should be judged for it’s functionality but considering it’s $4 and that it looks like something that was designed by a 10yo, I am very hesitant in paying for it and agree with Sam, ACTION should have released the app for it….
