Joy Burch MLA announces 2010 – 2011 ACT Budget on Twitter

The 2010-2011 ACT Budget was delivered this afternoon and was called a Modest budget by the Canberra ABC website. You can also read the budget from the Chief Minister’s website or the ACT Treasure website.
This time around I will not talk about the budget but the tools that were used to announce it. Most Canberrans probably didn’t know about it but Joy Burch MLA announced the The 2010-2011 ACT Budget this afternoon by using the mini bloging social network website Twitter. And the Twitter message sends you off to her Facebook webpage where you can read more about the budget.
Sure the ACT Government doesn’t use social media as much as the NSW or Victorian Governments but this is a great example of how the ACT Government is catching up with the rest of the country, wouldn’t you say so?
