New Websites for AFP and ACT Policing

Posted on April 28, 2010 by by valerirojas

The Australian Federal Police and the ACT Police have launched their new improved and better looking websites tonight, 28 April 2010.

AFP Commissioner Tony Negus said the AFP website has been designed to provide detailed information relating to the role the AFP plays in the community, both policing in the ACT and the national and international arenas.

“I invite the community to enter the world of the AFP by taking full advantage of the material and many features contained in our website,” Commissioner Negus said.

The website is set to become a significant tool for communicating messages important to the community and demonstrating the work performed by the AFP worldwide.

The websites do provide lots of information and seem to be very easy to navigate but one thing I could not see in their front pages were links to any of their social media webpages like the NSW and Victoria police have. In fact the AFP and ACT Police don’t have a Twitter or even Youtube account, either way their websites still provide lots of information such as their rss sections, media centre pages with media releases, publications and more.

So what do you think about the new websites? do you like them or not?
