Posted on April 12, 2010 by by scoop

A 45-year-old Holt man has been charged with multiple traffic offences including failing to obey a police direction, furious/reckless/dangerous driving, and driving an unregistered/uninsured vehicle after he attempted to flee from police yesterday afternoon. (Sunday, April 11).

Police were conducting laser speed detection duties on Southern Cross Drive in Scullin yesterday around 4.40pm when they witnessed an approaching Falcon sedan make a U-turn over the median strip and drive in the opposite direction.

Activating warning lights and siren, police initiated a pursuit of the vehicle through Florey. A short time later the vehicle came to a stop and the driver surrendered to police.

Also riding in the Falcon sedan at the time of the man’s arrest was a woman passenger in the front seat and two young children in the rear seat.

The vehicle had been unregistered and without compulsory third party insurance since January 2009. The driver has been unlicensed since March 2001.
