Free Green event @ CIT: The Viability of Electric Cars
Posted on April 19, 2010 by by valerirojas
The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Green is presenting it’s second environmental forum for the year. The viability of electric cars
The forum will explore the benefits of electric cars, and explain the process for individuals and businesses thinking of converting to electric.
“The event will be presented by Mark Hemmingsen. Mark is an electrotechnology specialist teaching at CIT who is particularly committed to teaching renewable technologies and energy management systems.”
Mark will discuss topics from why you would want an electric car, to the types of electric cars available and where to get them. He will also present information on how to convert an existing âgas guzzlerâ into a more sustainable electric version. A number of electric vehicles will also be on display.
Mark believes electric cars are the right direction for the future, and that Canberrans particularly have the opportunity to lead the way.
Mark is an avid supporter of electric vehicles, both for environmental reasons, and because of reports that “peak oil” is approaching and we need to find other propulsion systems for everyday life.
