Combined blitz in Melbourne – St Kilda

In a combined operation involving police, EPA, Sheriffs Office and Liquor Licensing 29 drink drivers were detected and 248 warrants worth $66,000 processed. Victoria Police report

Sites were located at Jacka Boulevard, Lakeside Drive and Grey Street St Kilda.
The operation which ran between 7.pm last night and 3 am today included boozes buses at each of the sites as well as personnel from the other agencies.
Police tested 2913 drivers, issued 23 penalty notices for general traffic offences such as unregistered vehicles and defective vehicles, and found 3 drivers with suspended licenses.
The EPA also issued four penalty notices for breaches of the their regulations.
83 licensed venues were visited and 11 notices were issued for breach of regulations.
The highest alcohol reading was .131 by an un-accompanied learner driver.
The operation which was run by the Port Phillip Traffic Management Unit is part of ongoing operations in the area.
