Brodburger van: should it stay or should it go?

Posted on April 9, 2010 by by emd

I have a song stuck in my head now. But no matter… it sounds like the NCA may seek a court order to force the Brodburger van to move from its current location. Canberra Times story has the details.

I’m confused. Is it just that they’ve got a prime lakeside location on NCA-managed land that stops them leaving their van there? Or are all the late-night burger vans around Canberra supposed to move overnight? Because the other vans around town seem to be permanently located, and nobody seems to be complaining. Feel free to fill me in if you know the details!

They should just leave them alone, but this is Canberra where we have the ACT Gov, National Authority and Public servants complaining all the time about anything and everything done in this city.

I wonder what is going to happen with the Brodburger van? so anyone knows what is the actual problem with it is? license issues or are they setup in an illegal spot?

I have heard they make nice burgers too so I will need to get me one in the next few days.

I think the problem is that they aren’t licensed to operate on NCA-controlled land. There’s lots of food vans with hawker licenses, but I think the Brodburger van is the only one on NCA land rather than ACT Govt land.
