Public Assistance to locate prison escapee – Kempsey

Mid North Coast Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a prisoner who escaped the custody of Corrective Service officers yesterday. NSW Police
Cleveland Madden, aged 22, an inmate at the Mid North Coast Correctional Centre, attended Kempsey Local Court for an appearance.Â
About 4pm (Monday March 8), following the court appearance, the prisoner was due to return to the correctional facility however he managed to escape custody as he was getting onto the prison van.Â
Mr Madden has been described as being Aboriginal in appearance, with a slim build and dark brown eyes. He was wearing green prison clothes with handcuffs at the time of his escape.Â
The prisoner was serving time for breaching his parole, and was appearing in court today on property related offences including aggravated break, enter and steal.
