Kids Recycled Craft Activity – Playdates for the Planet

Posted on March 22, 2010 by by emd

If you’re looking for a free, fun activity with your toddler or pre-schooler, this could be just the thing! Playdates for the Planet are doing some fun kids craft with recycled materials at Weston Park on Thursday 25 March from 10am. Look out for our flag at the covered BBQ area at Weston Park in Yarralumla – car parking is near the kiosk and mini-train area.

I’ll be helping the kids make little sailing boats, and we’ll have a go at floating them in the water play area. All materials are provided – wear clothes that can be washed easily as they might get texta on them while decorating their craft, and perhaps pack a spare t-shirt in case they get wet floating their boats. Be aware that there’s a lake there as well as the safe water play area, and your kids are your own responsibility. BYO morning tea – the parents usually have a nice morning chatting with each other while the kids play and get some fresh air.

Playdates for the Planet is an informal parents group for families who want to reduce their environmental footprint, and have fun along the way.
