Google Celebrates Akira Kurosawa’s Birthday with New Doodle
Posted on March 23, 2010 by by Valeri
Has anyone notice the New Google Doodle today? Google is celebrating the 100th birthday of Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter and editor Akira Kurosawa.
Kurosawa produced and directed many famous movies such as “The Seven Samurai” , which was later remade in Hollywood as “The Magnificent Seven“. The Seven Samurai tells the  story of a village of farmers that hire seven masterless samurai to combat bandits who will return after the harvest to steal their crops.
Anyway, I thought I share the doodle with all the people who still can’t see the new doodle yet.

I was wondering who that was! I loved the Seven Samurai – this movie still has a massive cult-following. Happy Birthday Mr Kurosawa!

Surely Google could have come up with a better portrait than that. Can’t really tell if it’s Chairman Mao or Kim Il Song!

According to Wikipedia, he died in 1998. Could be rather a low-key birthday celebration!
