Posted on February 5, 2010 by by Captcha

The following information comes from the Victoria Police news website.

Victoria Police have raided 16 houses in the southern suburbs of Victoria (Hampton Park, Narre Warren, Berwick and Endeavour Hills) following a major drug investigation over the last two days.

Police seized over 1100 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of nine million dollars and over $250,000 in cash.

Thirteen people have been arrested with eight appearing at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

One person has been charged and bailed to appear at court at a later date, and four people released pending further enquiries.

“This successful operation has removed in excess of half a tonne of cannabis from making it on the streets.

“We will continue to focus on organised crime groups involved in commercial drug trafficking with part of our goal being to strip them of all their assets”.
