Canberrans Make Emergency Calls from Wet Weather

After the amount of rain in Canberra I decided to check out the Canberra Emergency Services Agency (ESA) website and found out that they have received over 380 emergency phone calls due to the heavy rain today, Sunday 14th Feb.
- 7:00pm Sunday 14 February 2010 – Update 11 on wet weather A total of 381 calls for assistance as a result of the wet weather
- 6:00pm Sunday 14 February 2010 – Update 10 on the wet weather The ACT State Emergency Service has now received a total of 368 calls for assistance as a result of the wet weather with 15 outstanding. ESA
The Canberra Government portal website has extra information about it.
The ACT Emergency Services Authority advises that due to heavy rainfall the following roads are closed until further notice: OAKS ESTATE BRIDGE, BOBOYAN ROAD, ANGLE CROSSING and MCMAHON CROSSING. Extreme caution should be taken on SUTTON ROAD and on paths around GINNINDERRA CREEK. MAJURA ROAD is now open. Residents who are affected by heavy rainfall and need emergency assistance can call the ACT SES on 132 500.
