Canberrans have the opportunity to name their new ABL team set to compete in the inaugural 2010/11 ABL season.

By simply voting at www.nameyourteam.baseball.com.au you will go into the draw to win the trip of a lifetime, a trip to the 2010 MLB All-Star Game in Los Angeles including 2 x VIP Tickets, Return Airfares, and Accommodation!

One person from each state in Australia will be selected to go into the draw to see baseball’s brightest stars strut their stuff on its biggest stage. The winner will be chosen at the 2010 Claxton Shield Grand Final, to be held on Saturday, February 6.

One lucky Canberran will also win a lifetime season ticket and become the first ever Canberra ABL Foundation Fan. This lucky person will be given the opportunity to see every home game for free!

ABL Commissioner, Mark Peters, says Canberrans have the opportunity to take ownership of their newest national sporting team by helping to name it.

“The Australian Baseball League is being set up with the fans in mind.” Peters said.

“We really want the people of Canberra to become involved with their newest sporting team and get excited about Canberra’s participation.”

“Naming the team will be the first piece of the puzzle before we make some big announcements. The prize is fantastic.” Peters said.

With the first pitch of the inaugural ABL season due to be thrown in November, Canberra has a big task ahead before being ready to take to the diamond.

“The franchise has its work ahead of it.” Peters said. “But they will not be short of enthusiasm, they’ll represent the Canberra people very competitively on the national stage.”
