Man suffers facial burns after fireworks exploded in his face – Melbourne

A 24-year-old man has suffered facial burns after he placed a firework in a long tube and when he went to light the wick it exploded in the man’s face. Fireworks are actually illegal for domestic use in Melbourne.
The man was with two friends in the backyard of a house in Long Drive, Sunbury, Melbourne at  about 12.40 am when the accident happened. 28 December 2009
The man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with facial injuries. Victoria Police
