FIFA has introduced a new Football award this year. The award is called “The FIFA Puskás Award” and was created for all football lovers to vote for the best goal of the year “July 2008 – July 2009″. Voting will close at 12 noon CET on Monday 14 December.
“With your votes counting towards selecting a winner from ten videos as chosen by the FIFA Football Committee. In making their decision, the FIFA Football Committee applied the following criteria:
1. Aesthetics (a subjective criterion – long-range shots, team moves, acrobatic goals etc)
2. The importance of the match (an objective criterion – in descending order: national teams, continental tournaments, domestic first divisions)
3. The absence of luck or an opposition mistake as a factor making the goal possible
4. Fair Play: the player must not have conducted himself poorly during the game or, for example, have been found guilty of doping
5. The date: goals scored between July 2008 and July 2009
The winner will be unveiled at the FIFA World Player gala on 21 December.
My three favourite goals are by Grafite, Luis Angel Landin, Nilmar. The reason for that is because you have to have great  balance and skills with the ball to do what the three guys did. But I have to say Grafite’s goal is my favourite.
I didn’t pick any long-range shots because 90% of the time players don’t know where the ball will actually go.
Here is the video and you need to go to FIFA Puskas Award to vote for your goal.
So which is your favourite goal?
