School Principal beats up student for half an hour

And I thought Corporal punishment was banned from all schools already.
“The principal of Baba Raghunandan Das Inter College has been accused of beating up a Class VI student with a leather belt and a wooden ruler in which the 10-year-old boy suffered multiple wounds all over his body in Bilhaur. Kanpur Nagar District, India ” TimeofIndia.com
The young boy received nearly 11 wounds following the beating. Corporal punishment is banned in schools and a teacher can be terminated from service if he/she is found to have beaten up a student.
The young kid’s father said: “The principal has been harassing my younger son Prince to confess a theft in which he has implicated my elder son Deepak.” The latter, a student of Class IX at the same college, has been rusticated on the same ground. On Saturday, principal Virendra Gupta again tried to force Prince to acknowledge his elder brother Deepak’s involvement in the theft that took place on the college campus recently, he alleged.
“When I refused to do so, he started hitting me with a wooden ruler and a leather belt. I raised my hands when he was about to hit me on the head and the blow landed just below my right cheek. The ruler also hit my ear,” said Prince.
“Other teachers were just mute spectators of the episode which lasted half-an-hour.”

No good comes from hitting anyone! All people need to treat others the way they want to be treated.
