It’s Official: Some aussie reporters don’t like Britney Spears

Posted on November 12, 2009 by by carol w

While reading the latest review on Britney Spears concert in Melbourne I found this interesting review called “Britney Spears shows Melbourne a great mime” from the heraldsun.com.au

“MELBOURNE got to see something new at last night’s Britney Spears concert. No, she didn’t sing live. For better or worse the 14,000 fans already knew the serial lip-syncher is a singer who doesn’t sing.”

Nice way to start a review on the latest Britney Spears concert for sure. Obviously that was just to let us know that  “she wasn’t actually singing”.

The reporter goes on to say “If you can get past the shameless miming (she even lip synchs a spoken word interlude with her dancers) Britney’s Circus tour looks spectacular and you can see where your money went.” at least it sounds like he was actually at the show, was he?

“So while the dancers are amazing, their choreography is designed to carry her – often literally. As a dancer she’s possibly the weakest link in her show.” that’s just another comment about the singer and not the actual show.

Let’s give the guy some credits here as he also had this nice comment to make “But her star power overrides a lot of the concert’s flat spots.”

The report ends up with this nice line “For live pop performers, we’ve been spoiled this year with Pink and Beyonce. Britney’s show promised to be a spectacle. Depending on how live you want your live shows to be, you got it.”

Over all, it wasn’t much of a concert review but he probably had to write something anyway.

Now, if you actually want to read about the concert then visit undercover.com.au as they thought it was actually a good show.

“Lets start by getting one thing straight. Rebekah Devlin, who started what quickly developed into Britney-gate this week in Australia, clearly got it very, very wrong. At the Britney Spears show tonight at Rod Laver Arena, there were no mass walk-outs, there were no disgruntled fans and the audience was genuinely entertained.” Undercover

  1. Nic Nic says:

“[comment moderated]” P!Nk hs been given a raw deal by the american press al the time, never giving her the credit she deserves. And THEY think Britney SPears is talented !!! yup, some ppl u can actually hear them say they think BS is more talented than P!Nk, that is how delusional they are in America. P!Nk is Australia’s fav international star and adopted daughter, so obviously they wil giv a raw deal to America’s little princess.
