58 drivers caught drink-driving in Canberra last week

According to a Police report, a total of 58 motorists were apprehended for drink-driving last week in Canberra (November 23-30) – almost double the usual weekly count for the ACT.
“Of the 58 apprehended, 13 drivers had previous drink-driving convictions and 25 were drivers who, as probationary, restricted or provisional licence-holders, had exceeded their mandatory Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.02.”
“The highest BAC by a motorist last week was 0.295, recorded by a 23-year-old O’Malley woman who was arrested by police after being involved in a collision in Isaacs on Friday night (November 27). This woman had a previous drink-driving conviction from 2006 and had been granted a restricted licence.” AFP report
