Police, Emergency Services and International Students to play football match for equality and safety in Australia

Ballarat Police together with the City of Ballarat and University of Ballarat, are teaming together for a football match this Saturday 3rd of October to address safety within the International Student and Refugee Communities in Ballarat. This comes after recent violent attacks against Indian students studying in Melbourne, Australia

“The soccer teams will consist of police members and other emergency service employees from across the Ballarat region. While the Ballarat International Student community consists of students from different parts of the world, predominately Asia, and includes India and China, and a large and growing community of African refugees who mostly attend the university’s TAFE campus.” Police said

The match kicks off at 1pm this Saturday, 3 October at Trekado Park, Pleasant Street, Ballarat and concludes around 5pm.
