An 18-year-old probationary driver “P-Plater” from Melbourne has lost his licence for six months just 45 minutes after passing the test.
Police caught the young man travelling at 154 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on the Hume Freeway in Benalla on Wednesday afternoon. 21st October
Further investigation showed that the young man had only obtained his p-plates licence 45 minutes earlier at VicRoads in Wangaratta.
“When asked why he was travelling at such a dangerous speed, the man said his passenger, a 20-year-old man from Melbourne was feeling “unwell” and the pair was in a rush to get home.”
The young man will have to pay $421 fine and his licence will be suspended for six months.
