A 36-year-old man has died after he tried to jump from a moving train in Melbourne. Melbourne Central station

The incident happened as the train was leaving the station around midnight when the man and a woman,  have tried to jump from the moving vehicle onto the platform.

It is believed while the woman, 35, made it to the platform, however the man fell from the Frankston-bound train and was dragged underneath.

“Police are speaking to witnesses and will review CCTV footage to establish how the man came to fall on the tracks.”
