How does it work?
Last November, Google  launched Google Flu Trends in the United States after finding a close relationship between how many people search for flu-related topics and how many people actually have flu symptoms. Now, by tracking the popularity of certain Google search queries, they are able to estimate in near real-time the level of flu activity for a number of countries and regions around the world.
