Startup Camp Canberra

Looking for an opportunity to re-live the heady days of the late 1990s when geeks with a cool idea for the next ‘killer application’ became instant millionaires?
Well, unfortunately, those days are long gone, but the potential of the ‘killer ap’ is still very much alive. However, in today’s economic climate, it takes more than a clever technology idea– there also has to be a viable business underpinning that application, surrounded by first-class marketing, branding and business development strategies.
Â
Experiencing the thrill of launching a web business and learning-by-doing are the purpose of Start-Up Camp Canberra. Over the course of a single weekend, teams will be formed, brain storms will result in idea tsunamis, business strategies developed, code written and (hopefully) a web application launched to the world.  On the Sunday, your team gets to present its business to the world at a special media launch event and get critiqued by actual web technology investors (even some wizened old characters who actually experienced the last tech boom!).
This event is all about getting you networking with other aspiring start-up entrepreneurs and getting down to business.
During the course of the event, we will have ‘special guests’ dropping in to chat to your teams, give you feedback on your ideas and progress. Guests will include local start-up company entrepreneurs, technical experts, business development and marketing specialists.   Â
We also will make sure there is plenty of what you need to focus on the task at hand:Â caffeine, food, reliable internet connectivity etc.
All you need to bring is a laptop, a good idea and, friends.Â
