Should Canberra Radio Presenter Mark Parton apologise to Ginninderra residents?
Posted on September 28, 2009 by by scoop
The ACT Chief Minister has published a media release where Mary Porter, the Member for Ginninderra, has called on Mark Parton, ex-106.3 Radio Presenter and current 2CC Radio presenter to “apologise for misleading the 3785 residents of Ginninderra who believed him when he said he wanted to be âThe Voice of Reasonâ in the Legislative Assembly” when he was an independent candidate for Ginninderra at the last election.
Ms Porter was responding to Partonâs claim on 2CC this morning that the ACT Legislative Assembly was âour pretend parliamentâ.âRather than being the âVoice of Reasonâ it seems to me that Mr Parton will say whatever he believes to be appropriate at the timeâ, Ms Porter said.
âWhen he was a candidate he thought he should to tell people it was important that they vote for him so he would be able to influence decisions that would affect them. His website declared that he stood for âopenness and honesty in Governmentâ but now that he is a âshock jockâ he obviously believes there is greater mileage in making derogatory comments about the institution that he sought to be a member of.
Given that the residents of Ginninderra now know what Mr Parton really feels about the Legislative Assembly at least we can be assured that he will not stand again in 2012, although on his past record, who can possibly know what he really thinks.â
There is nothing in Mark’s blog site yet but I am sure we will see something in the next few hours about it. http://partonwords.blogspot.com/ official site http://www.markparton.com/portal/

Exacly my point, the act government should just leave the guy alone and come up with better media releases, right?

I think it was just a draft media release which some how went live but has been removed now.
