That is really sad but personally I think that if there is a foot path next to the road a cyclist should use it. They do not pay rego, insurance or road works. I have had so many incidents’ involving cyclist riding their bikes in the middle of the road and I have been the one getting abused by cars driving behind me because I had to either slow down or my other option was to over take where over taking is not permitted.
The laws involving bicycles really need to be looked into better. Motorbike riders who’s vehicle happen to also have 2 wheels have to pay rego, insurance and take courses. Why does it not apply to bicycles? They are a type of transport.
I also ride a bike but i stick to the foot paths and away from busy roads.
