Detectives are investigating the theft of vodka worth almost $600,000 from a Lidcombe business over the weekend.
About 1am on Sunday 13 September, three unknown men entered a Parramatta Road business and, using a prime mover and trailer, stole a shipping container holding more than 17,400 bottles of vodka.
It’s believed the offenders drove the truck through a rear fence and onto the M4 before fleeing the scene in a westerly direction.
The theft of the alcohol was reported to police from Flemington Local Area Command, who established a crime scene which was examined by forensics specialists.
The prime mover was later found abandoned on Camden Valley Way, Prestons; however, the trailer and container remain unaccounted for.
Detectives are seeking public assistance as they attempt to track down the offenders.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in the area late on Saturday night or early on Sunday morning is urged to contact Auburn Police Station via Crime Stoppers on
1 800 333 000.
