Real Underbelly Continues – Police seized over three million dollars worth of drugs in Victoria

Detectives executed warrants in the Dandenong and South Yarra areas where they located what is believed to be a clandestine laboratory. Report

Six people were arrested and four charged with drug related offences putting an end to this drug syndicate.

• A 44 year-old South Yarra man was charged with manufacture and traffick a large commercial quantity of amphetamine.

• A 24-year-old Sunshine man was charged with manufacture and traffick a large commercial quantity of amphetamine.

• A 24-year-old man from South Australia was charged with manufacture and traffick a large commercial quantity of amphetamine.

• A 21-year-old Pakenham man was charged with traffick and possess a drug of dependence.

• A 24-year-old Berwick man was interviewed in relation to drug and proceeds of crime matters and has been released pending further enquiries.

• A 22-year-old Sunshine man was interviewed in relation to drug and proceeds of crime matters and has been released pending further enquiries.

Drug Task Force detectives and Victoria Police have been pretty busy in the past few weeks with operations in Melbourne’s western suburbs on the 1st August and operations in the inner metropolitan and outer southern suburbs of Melbourne on the 30th of July.

On the 1st of August Police seized drugs worth more than $50,000 from Melbourne’s western suburbs.

“Police raided nine properties, including a Footscray pool hall, pizza shop, factories and residential premises targeting a cocaine, amphetamine, ice and cannabis drug syndicate, with the raids taking place in Footscray, Delahey, Seddon, Caroline Springs, Keilor East and Reservoir.”

“Police seized four vehicles, including a Porsche, Mercedes, three Harley Davidson motorcycles, $8500 cash, two pistols and a set of knuckledusters and approximately one $1,000,000 worth of assets as part of the raids.”

Police arrested and charged 11 people with 600 drug-related offences, including: traffic amphetamines, traffic cocaine, traffic cannabis, conspiracy to traffick, possess proceeds of crime and possess pistols. report

On the 30th of July Police arrested five people and seized half a million dollars worth of drugs breaking down a drug importation syndicate.

Warrants were condacted at seven addresses in the inner metropolitan and outer southern suburbs of Melbourne.

The locations were: Frankston Gardens Drive, Carrum Downs; Bridge Road, Richmond; Scenic Drive, Eltham; Railway Parade, Pascoe Vale; Royal Parade, Glenhuntly; and Glenhuntly Road, Elsternwick.

Cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamine and over 80 litres of liquid more commonly referred to as GHB or Fantasy were seized during the operations.

Also seized was over $35,000 cash, steroids, a taser (stun gun) and an ASP Baton.   Report
