Are Young Somali immigrants really unwanted in Australia?

Posted on August 19, 2009 by by Captcha

“Young Somali immigrants say they face racism and feel unwanted in Australia. Their problems have drawn more attention since four men from Somali backgrounds were charged with planning a suicide attack on an army base in Sydney.” VOA News

The article also talks about the Somali immigrant community suffering high unemployment. Many refugees have problems learning English or experience the lingering effects of torture and trauma, and they also complain of racism from mainstream Australia.

I understand how they feel some of the racism in the mainstream population…..and its a pity how a “small group of bad apples can spoil all of the barrel”
