NSW Police have arrested and charged 196 people during an ongoing operation targeting suspected burglary and drug offenders in Sydney.
In late June, police established Strike Force Cobra, which was formed to assist all Local Area Commands in the Central Metropolitan Region in solving a series of separate break and enters; and other drug-related offences.
Between Monday 3 August and Tuesday 18 August alone, strike force officers arrested 41 suspects and charged them with a total of 70 offences.
A man was taken into police custody at Silverwater yesterday and charged with 20 offences, including 10 counts of steal from motor vehicle and nine counts of break, enter and steal.
In a separate matter yesterday, a 41-year-old man was taken into custody at Silverwater and charged with two counts of break and enter at a place of worship, namely a church at Riverwood; and break and enter with intent to commit a serious indictable offence.
Anyone with information that could assist the strike force is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Report Crime Online.
