Victoria Police to Tweet all breath reading records tonight
Posted on July 23, 2009 by by valerirojas
Deputy Commissioner for road policing Mr Ken Lay will use the social networking website Twitter in an attempt to get through to young drivers thinking about drinking and driving.
“Many young people use Twitter on their mobile phones, even when they’re out drinking and socialising,” he said.
“If posting the details of bad behaviour on Twitter stops even one person from getting in their car and driving drunk, it will be worth it.”
Anyone will be able to track Mr Lay’s tweets on the Victoria Police Twitter page, at www.twitter.com/VictoriaPolice from 7pm, and even reply back with their own opinions.
Mr Lay will post details of high alcohol readings and information about any vehicles caught travelling at excessive speeds.
