The former Catholic priest attended the Hornsby Police Station where he was arrested by local detectives investigating a number of alleged assaults upon a girl in the St Ives area between 1975 and 1980. (7 July)

“The 77-year-old man from Templestowe in Victoria was charged with six counts of assault female and commit act of indecency, relating to alleged offences committed against the girl, who was 12-years-old at the time of the first incident.”

“Detectives will allege the man indecently assaulted the girl on six occasions between 1975 and 1980 whilst at her home.”

The man was charged and granted conditional bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court on 21 July 2009.
