‘Dob-in-a-bikie’ – Bikie Phone In Day

Posted on June 23, 2009 by by valerirojas

omcgWA Police has launched a campaign to encourage the public to report any criminal activities by outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMCGs).

WA Crime Stoppers have organised a dedicated Phone in Day today 23rd of June, 2009, to assist in gathering all information provided by the public to assist in our fight against crime.

Police Minister Rob Johnson said, The aim of the ‘Phone in a Bikie’ campaign was not only to gather information, but also to remind the WA community of the very negative impact that outlaw motorcycle gangs have on the community.

“These groups have been fooling the public into believing that they are a social club, or a group of innocent joy-riders out for a pleasant motorcycle ride. They are not.

“They are highly organised and sophisticated criminal organisations, frequently linked to serious crimes involving violence, drugs, and guns.

“They also use tactics to persuade people into thinking that they’re good guys – doing things like charity motorcycle rides – when they’re not good guys at all.”
