Images released of 88 year old man assaulted in Melbourne

Victoria Police has released images of an 88 year old Melbourne man who was struck to the head with a weapon and his mobile phone and wallet containing cash stolen during an assault on 19th May.

The man is currently at Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.

The assault occurred in the driveway of his residence in Duncans Road,  just after 6.30am.

Police believe he was beside his car which was parked in the driveway at the time of the assault.

It is believed two male offenders were involved and they used a vehicle to leave the area.

  1. Cowards! I hope this gentleman convalesces swiftly and is able to recover emotionally somehow. I would hate to think of him living out his life in fear and distress.

    Hold on. Why are seeing pictures of the victim, when we should be seeing pictures (or a facefit) of the perpetrator? I don’t think this man deserves to have his poor beat-up face all over the internet …

  4. 6:30 am is fairly early – let’s hope there was somebody around at the time with some useful information.
