Attempted Abduction in Kaleen

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a possible abduction attempt at Kaleen Primary School this afternoon
The incident happened on Friday 1st May. Just after 3.00pm a six-year-old boy walking between the primary school and pre-school was approached by a man who attempted to pull him in to some nearby bushes.
Police believe a number of parents intervened, causing the man to leave the school grounds. He was then seen getting in to a light green four-wheel-drive which was parked out the front of the school on Ashburton Circuit.
The man was described as having black hair and wearing a black jumper and black track-suit pants. ACT Policing
If you have any information, or if you were any of the parents who intervened, contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au

“Police believe a number of parents intervened” I think most parents would have done more than intervene..

I’m just glad they didn’t just avert their eyes and try to pretend it wasn’t happening.
People can be amazingly reluctant to step in if the situation doesn’t directly involve them or their offspring. Why do you think so much child and spousal abuse goes on unreported? Because people think it’s not their business.

imagine what would have happened if it was one of the parents of the child. there would be justified thumping…
